Mohammad Raffan, a dedicated cyclist from the village of Soaliapara in the Kaiarbil Union of Chakaria Upazila, Cox's Bazar, has embarked on a unique journey through cycling. His family is deeply connected to the service of others—his father, Nasir Uddin, is a retired Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officer. His eldest sister, Tamia Naznin Luna, is a doctor with a BMDC certificate (BMDC NO: 26763 Link ) , and his other sister, Halia Naznin Tusa, is a registered doctor with the Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC NO: 9314 Link) .
From an early age, Raffan was inspired by stories of his mother’s long hours of cycling. This sparked his own passion for bicycles, which became more than just a mode of transportation for him—it became a way of life. His cycling expeditions extended beyond his home village, reaching neighboring areas like Pekua, where he experienced diverse cultures and lifestyles.
In 2021, the “Victory Ride” marked a significant milestone in his life. During this one-day cycling tour, he covered 80-90 kilometers across both flat and hilly terrain, from his home in Kaiyarbil to Lama in Bandarban and Bomubilchhari. This challenging ride tested the limits of both him and his team, taking them to new physical and mental heights.
For Raffan, cycling is more than just an adventure—it’s a platform for spreading messages of awareness. On every ride, he advocates for drug-free living and encourages people to live healthy, positive lives. With this vision, he founded the Easy-Riders Bicycle Club of Cox's Bazar (ERBCC), a club that promotes cycling as an environmentally friendly mode of transport and inspires the younger generation to embrace it.
ERBCC has already organized several major cycling events, bringing together cyclists from both rural and urban areas. The club is also engaged in social activities like tree planting, which is a key part of their environmental efforts. Through his cycling journeys, Raffan spreads the message of peace and the vision of a greener, more livable world.
Driven by a dream to one day cycle around the globe, Mohammad Raffan’s journey is not just about personal achievement—it’s about building a healthy, sustainable, and environmentally friendly future for everyone.
